Still about The Troll Bridge: I’m verrrrry excited, because my older brother Josh’s friend Ryan offered to mix, edit, and put in good drums to our songs. He’s going to do this for all the songs on the demo CD, so I’m very happy. Ryan does a lot of mixing songs and he plays quite a few instuments so I’m phsyced, because we’ll be able to post good quality sounding songs online instead of songs that sound decent. Hello! This is The Troll Bridge’s TWO recorded songs. We have an acoustic version of Claustrophobic on youtube, just search horsiedudette on youtube and watch the Xander and Anya video. The Claustrophobic is on electric guitar with more drums, so yeah its different. We have another song coming up (soon to be recorded) called Forgive and Forget and we are going to write some form of dance song, but that currently doesn’t exist. Also, I recently noticed we forgot to turn the metronome off, so please ignore that for claustrophobic because it stops anyway. And we are kinda off time for Tearless Goodbye, but honestly, whatever, I mean, its a demo, so yeah.

“Hey Maddie, come and listen to this song.” My brother once said to me. That song (“I’m a Pirate, You’re A Princess”) introduced me to Daniel Hunter of a one man band called Analog Rebellion (previously known as PlayRadioPlay!).
The first time I heard this song, I thought it was amazing. I listened to it daily, and quickly became obsessed. I found every single song ever released by PlayRadioPlay!, and began reading Dan Hunter’s blog on MySpace. I bought his albums as fast as I could, and looked up lyrics to every single song. Every single word in every single song, is something I can connect to. In the song “Confines Of Gravity” Dan sings about wanting to do something drastic, and extreme to get the attention of people and making something out of yourself. “Newcomer Of Seven Years” is about thinking to much of yourself, and when someone says something that may burst your ego, everything is ruined. These songs became more than just good music to me.
So I went back to Dan’s blog, to learn more about him, as a person. When he was about 12-13 years old, his dad died, which caused his mom to become an alcoholic. Unable to deal with this at such a young age, Dan himself turned to substance abuse. At first, reading this shocked me. But I got interested, and read more.
My older sister is a recovering alcoholic and addict. Knowing that there is another person who was in the same place she is now, makes me realize that she can conquer her addiction, and straighten out her life, like Dan Hunter did.
Dan is now 20 years old, and 5 years sober. He’s a huge success in the indie music scene, which all began when he started mixing electronic lo-fi music in his garage after completing a rehabilitation program. Through MySpace he signed to StolenTransmission/Island records, which he recently left saying “It was a nightmare.” Dan has changed his name from PlayRadioPlay!, to Analog Rebellion, and is happier than ever, releasing two albums in January without a record label, something almost impossible to do.
Because Dan has made a huge success of himself, and has recovered from an addiction, I feel like my sister can too. Alcoholism and other addictions run through my family, and it brings me comfort knowing that the people I care about can have a good life. If Dan Hunter, who is nothing more than an average guy from Texas could do this, I know my sister will be successful and conquer her problem. I don’t know Dan personally, but I will always look up to him.

My friends Holly, Maddy, and me have a band called The Troll Bridge. Though I have mentioned it various times, I haven’t ever really said much about it. Originally, it was called Unlimited and we had other members and we were just immature little girls who wanted to make a “band”. Then, we got rid of all the people who couldn’t actually play an instrument, and called it “Reasons To Live” though we attempted a few covers, and tried to write a song, really we were obviously pathetic. So then we got rid of the drummer, and did nothing. And then one day, while sitting on this bridge near my house eating Ruffles chips, I was like “lol, we should call this bridge The Troll Bridge.” and then we started talking about our so-called band, and eventually decided on calling it The Troll Bridge. Unfortunately we don’t have a drummer, but thats okay, we get Maddy’s brother (who actually plays drums) to do some purcussion stuff when we record demos, with our pathetic little microphone, and Audacity, and even though the quality is REALLY bad, it’s pretty cool.

We have one song posted on YouTube, to 2 different videos. It’s an acoustic version but I like it. It’s called “Claustrophobic” and its an original song. Unfortunately, I’m at school right now so I can’t link to YouTube, because I can’t get on YouTube. But anyone interested can go on youtube and search “Claustrophobic By The Troll Bridge”, or “Claustrophobic Xander and Anya” because Maddy made a video to that song with pictures of Xander and Anya from Buffy. make sure the video you click is either posted by WonkyDonkeyFilms or horsiedudette. I suggest listening to the Xander and Anya one, because it’s better quality.

At the moment, we are working on writing another song called “Forgive, and Forget”. We have guitar and vocals written, but not bass. Our bass is generally really simple, because Holly hasn’t been playing for very long, so she hasn’t learned to write at a high level yet. But, thats okay. It’s fun, being in a band. When we record and post Forgive and Forget, I’ll be sure to post (:

Also, we are hoping to have about 10 original songs recorded sometime before like, March, because we want to make a demo CD. Not to give to a record company, obviously, we aren’t stupid. But just for fun. We are going to cover a few songs. And by cover I mean, cover. As in, we write our own music for the lyrics. Not just a tab off ultimate-guitar.com

Anyway, as usual this is another pointless post. But…I’m bored. And school isn’t over for 13 minutes. And, I finished my essay so I have nothing to do. Gahhhhh. (:

So, last week is my friend Kirstin birthday. And two weeks ago we threw her a rather succesful party complete with a homemade cake, pizza, movie, decorations, BALLOONS, lootbags, and presents. I got her this hair kit that came with 4 different types of hair brushes, a comb, a mini brush, a mirror, some hair elastics, bobbi pins, and a head band. And I got her a framed collage of like our group of friends, and a mini toblerone. Holly got her fuzzy striped toe socks, striped knee socks, clip on earrings (kirstin doesn’t have peirced ears, but she wishes she did), this awesome shirt that says some like spread hugs of something, and a shirt that says “I’m With Jacob” that Kirstin totally spazzed over because she’s obbsessed with Jacob/ Taylor Lautner from twilight. Maddy got her make-up brushes and stuff in this kit thats like mine, only for makeup brushes, and two things of lip gloss, and Trine got her 3 nail polishes, a nail file, nail polish remover, a little set of clippers, a manicure pen, and a bag to put it all in. It all worked out perfectly because Holly got her clothes, I got her hair stuff, Maddy got her makeup, and Trine got her nail stuff. So it’s like makeover stuff all together. We were gonna jump out and suprise her, but when I answered the door I started laughing and couldn’t blow into my noise maker thingy. And Holly couldn’t stay because she had ANOTHER party to go to. And there was a mix up, so kirstin was like 4 hours later then she was supposed to be. It was very interesting. ANYWAY, it was fun, and I’m depressed because it’s over. BUT CHRISTMAS IS COMING, SO THAT MEANS MORE PRESENTS! I love presents, even if I’m just giving them, not getting them. So fun. Unfortunately, my mom has her camera with her, so I can’t upload the picture of the cake. It was a double layered heart shaped cake, which was iced with chocolate icing, but then whipped cream on top so it LOOKS like vanilla cake, but when you cut it its all chocolately. We’re brilliant, I know. (:

Well, I’ve wanted to do this post for a VERYYYY long time, but I never got around to it. Sadly. Anyway, now that I have…

22. I still have ALL my teddy bears and stuffed animals.

Okay, well now I’m very depressed because on the weekend me and my friends threw my friend Kirstin a surprise party, and I wrote a post alllllll about it, but now it’s GONE. It’s not even in my drafts. So sad. So sad.

So, for those of you who actually know me, you know of my obession with Analog Rebellion (previously known as PlayRadioPlay!), and Dan Hunter has announced that his new album Ancient Electrons will be released in January along with A DOUBLE DISK B-SIDES ALBUM WITH 40 TRACKS, TITLED ‘BESIDES, NOTHING’ (it’s a pun, get it?). Songs as new as The Newcomer Of Seven Years, and Mindy’s Secret Song will be on it, and songs as old as We’ve Been Searching The Sky For Answers, Decipher Reflections, and EVEN THINGS THAT NOBODY HAS EVER HEARD, BECAUSE HE CREATED THEM BEFORE HE EVEN WAS KNOWN AS PLAYRADIOPLAY!. THEY HAVE NEVER LEFT HIS COMPUTER. Like, omg. I am gonna cry. I have never been so excited for an album in my ENTIRE LIFE. lalalalalallalalalalal ANTICIPATION. I’ll die if I can’t pre-order this. Dan Hunter (the creator of Analog Rebellion. It’s a one man band) is my hero. Analog Rebellion is my life. Hehehehehhehehehehehehehehehehehhehehehehehe.
